[eff around] When shitposting => business

I can’t turn off my humor. I’ve tried.
So, instead of trying to suppress it, I let it bleed into my work.
For background, one of my lines of business is helping restaurants grow through franchising.
And one of the most important ways to do this? Create valuable content on a consistent basis.
I posted this on LinkedIn a month ago:
You can see the post on my LinkedIn, here (and Y U no connect with me ?)
Real talk?
It wasn’t one of my favorite memes.
It didn’t even get much engagement (usually my stuff gets over 2,000 impressions; this didn’t even get 1,000).
But, nevertheless, it put a deal in the pipeline. I got this below response.
I’m not telling you to make jokes and you’ll get flooded with deals. There is so much context missing:
I post once a day . Consistency is what others won't do. And it's a fact that prospects need 8-18 touches before they consider doing business with you.
Check my consistent posts, here .
There are no shortcuts; I engineered this; and, because I work them system, the system works.
Also - my point about this example not even having a lot of impressions:
You just never know what sticks.
What you think is good, might not be as good as you think; and vice versa. And
Even if it’s not the best, it’s still part of the consistency equation.
I have a ratio . I post one insightful post one day, followed by 2-3 memes and jokes.
The memes won’t work if there no substance, or it’s not offset by actually valuable content.
It’s my personality. Laughter is how I break the ice, diffuse awkward situations, and talk to everyone.
If humor isn’t you, then figure out what does work for you.
EVEN AFTER I closed a deal, I continued to have fun with my clients. Like this recent post on Instagram.

Paul T Tran || Eff Around & Find Out newsletter on Instagram: “I recently sold a franchise deal for a brand I advise for, @rollemup (10 units, going to Tennessee and Kentucky - woohoo!), to an experienced, successful, and most importantly - kind - family. I asked how I could be a part of this family, and they told me that if I could learn how to Bollywood dance, they’d welcome me with open arms. So...after two weeks, I DID IT. ...I asked my teammate and designer @ryanchris2180 to help me fake my way in lol! I’ll see you at the next family gathering, y’all...”

I didn’t tell jokes to make people like me and work with me. It’s embedded into my very being.
Writing is my format . Some people like doing podcasts. Some do videos. And some, like me, like to write.
Words are my element. Don’t force yourself into writing, if it’s not your thing.
Do what you can commit to, consistently. They all work, if you work it.
